Intelligent Tire Technology

It’s Europe’s turn: Following in the footsteps of the US, tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) will become mandatory in all new passenger vehicles from November 2012. From 26 – 28 September, 2011, in Darmstadt, Germany, professionals in the field will converge on IQPC’s 7th International Conference Intelligent Tire Technology to discuss the latest in automotive tire technology.

The conference will focus on issues such as the current TPMS EU regulatory framework and international recommendations, current challenges of TPMS, and experimental characterisation of the dynamic behavior of rolling tires for noise and comfort applications.

One highlight of the conference will be a presentation from Dr Thomas Roscher from Audi, who will speak about the development process of indirect tire pressure monitoring from an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) perspective.

Delegates also have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops on the following topics:

  • Fracture of elastomers and durability of tires
  • The virtual tire
  • Energy harvesting for an intelligent tire
  • TPMS technology for trucks and buses

Further information, including the full conference program, articles and interviews, are available on the website.
